Vote! Vote! Vote!

Have you ever seen the Pepsi Refresh Project commercials? For those of you who have not, it is a campaign going on everyday that people can vote for up to a limited amount and time. They issue winners in many different amount of money categories who have the most votes. Pepsi gives thousands to millions of dollars a month to fund refreshing ideas that are helping to change the world. With winners they often have commercials of the organization and what they do to help people and how they deserved the money. – Some really moving organizations, non-profits, and businesses make you tear up a little bit 🙂

Good news is that the ASPCA was approved to participate in the campaign. They are up for voting to win $250,000 that will be used to support and help the Field Investigations and Response Team. I actually researched what exactly they do and here it is. The group was created in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina to help rescue animals that were abandoned and stranded in the storm or after math of it. Now after the storm they now help aid and rescue animals from natural and man-made disasters. They help animals from fires, puppy mill raids, and extreme cruelty cases. They need the funding to help buy special equipment and rescue vehicles to make it easier to help animals in bad places and help place them in a safe, loving home. Never heard of the group but they seem like pretty amazing people doing extraordinary things.

What you need to do: There are two winners in their category and they are awarded to the ones with the highest votes. Voting will be allowed until August 31, 2011.You can click the link below make an account and vote EVERYDAY. You can vote from there everyday, or you can simply text 101882 to Pepsi (73774).. please do what you can. Pass on the word, post on facebook, twitter, tell your friends. It is a great cause so just think about it.

Animal Testing – It’s not Necessary

Did you know over 100 million animals die from chemical, drug, food and cosmetic tests, biology lessons, medical training exercises, and curiosity-driven medical experiments every year? ( They say exact numbers cannot be known because birds, rabbits, mice, and rats are the prime animals used and do not have to be recorded. Can you imagine one of your animals having to live that day to day life of being in a cold cage waiting for your next brutal experiment? It is inhumane and NOT necessary.

Peta has released this finding, “The federal government and many charities waste precious dollars from taxpayers and generous donors on cruel and misleading animal experiments at universities and private laboratories instead of spending them on promising clinical, in vitro and epidemiological studies that are actually relevant to humans.”

Even worse is that some of these tests were animals are blinded, dogs forced to eat pesticides, harmful and burning chemicals rubbed onto their skin and eyes are not REQUIRED by law. Scientists say that some of these test results are inaccurate findings. Animals do not deserve to be tortured day after day. With all of the technological advances we have made in our day, they are telling us there is not a better way of doing these experiments?
